Installation & Usage Guidelines

  1. First, thread the stainless banding through the slot at one end of the spring base and fold it back over the slot.
  2. Next, crimp a 3/4″ seal (wing or closed seal) to secure the band end.
  3. Then, extend the band around the object to the next spring and repeat until the full circumference is encircled.
  4. Finally, while tensioning, compress each spring about 1/2″ (12.7 mm) (1/4″ per half) and ensure compression and band stresses are evenly distributed around the circumference to avoid local overload.
  5. For large OD pipe/tanks, use closed or lap-over seals as required and increase spring count according to max compression.
  6. Choose 316 SS for corrosive or marine environments
